2000 Canada Millenium Souvenir Set

This 12-coin set of 25-cent coins, displayed on an oval easel featuring an aerial photograph of Canada, was minted to commemorate the year 2000. The coins are all nickel featuring a unique design for each of the 12 coins. A competition was held where contestants were asked to submit designs for each month of the year from 1999 and 2000. For the 2000 Millenium set, each of the coins display the following themes: pride, ingenuity, achievement, health, natural legacy, harmony, celebration, family, wisdom, creativity, freedom, and community. This set comes with an additional Maple Leaf Forever medallion which represents a collage of maple leaves to symbolize Canadian natural and cultural diversity.
